*We have established reduction goals compared to 2019, a year prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the transition to telecommuting (remote work). This is in anticipation of an expected increase in power consumption since 2022 due to the return to in-office commuting for all employees and an increase in the number of employees compared to the previous year.

  • 1) Total GHG emissions(tCO2e): Scope 1 emissions+Scope 2 emissions.
    Scope 1(direct emissions) is CO2 emissions from the use of corporate vehicles and LNG(for cooking), and Scope 2(indirect emissions) is emissions from the use of electricity and district heating.
    Scope 1's LNG, corporate vehicle, and Scope 2's electricity are CO2 emissions using country-specific emission factors, and Scope 1's district heating is the sum of CO2, CH4, N2O emissions using GHG emission factors of Korea District Heating Corporation.
  • 2) Scope 1 LNG GHG emissions=LNG consumption(㎥) x country-specific emission factors*
    - In the case of 2019, only November-December is included (data is not retained for January-October).
  • 3) Scope 1 Corporate vehicle GHG emissions=fuel consumption(ℓ) x country-specific emission factors (One hybrid vehicle is calculated as gasoline due to the difficulty of distinguishing by fuel)
  • 4) Scope 2 Electricity GHG emissions=Electricity consumption(kwh) x country specific emission factors
    * Before 2022, the ‘2017 country-specific emission factors’ are applied, and from 2022, the ‘2022 country-specific emission factors’ are applied. The same applies to 1)~4).
  • 5) Scope 2 District heating=medium-temperature hot water(Gcal) x GHG emission factors of Korea District Heating Corporation**
    ** the sum of CO2, CH4, N2O. The 2023 emission factors have not yet been released, so the 2022 emission factors are applied.
  • 6) GHG emissions intensity(tCO2e/KRW 100M)=annual GHG emissions consumption(Scope 1&2)/annual revenue(separate)
  • 7) Energy consumed(TOE)=annual electricity consumption(kwh) x conversion factors(0.229). In the case of LNG, corporate vehicles, and district heating, the consumption is minimal, so it is calculated only from the electric energy consumption, which accounts for the largest proportion of consumption(over 97%).
  • 8) Energy consumption intensity(TOE/KRW 100M)=annual energy consumption/annual revenue(separate)
  • 9) Average number of commuters to Pangyo headquarters: counted since the COVID-19 outbreak. As it was impossible to identify the number of commuters to Pangyo headquarters for all working days, it was estimated by sampling a few days per year.
